Dragonfly Counselling CORNWALL

Counselling & Psychotherapy - Clinical Supervision

About me

Hello & Welcome to Dragonfly Counselling Cornwall

I am Maria and I am a therapist based in Cornwall but, my offering online and phone counselling could practically reach you anywhere you may find yourself!  My core approach is person-centred however, my interest in different approaches and creative work may be helpful to some clients, as well as can help me adapt my work depending on individual client needs. My aim is to offer a safe, confidential & non-judgmental space to share and explore any issues that are troubling you.  I believe that the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client can prove to be an exceptional way of promoting change and bettering one's life and relationships.

Person-Centred is a client-led approach and much a relational one, as the therapeutic relationship that continually evolves is at the heart of it and healing can emerge through it.  My aim is to facilitate exploration of what you bring in the room, which in turn can be facilitated by "relational depth", a deep connection between therapist and client.  It is also to provide you with a supportive space and the necessary conditions to enhance your healing process.

I draw on a range of theoretical concepts, using  a relational model, to facilitate awareness of and connection to different parts of the self, your unmet needs and feelings arising from them.

I am looking forward to welcoming you to our sessions ...

Face to face sessions are held in locations in St Austell.  This is currently in the form of walk & talk therapy (ecotherapy) - outdoors.

I also offer counselling sessions over the phone for clients who, for various reasons, may be unable, do not want or feel comfortable to access face to face therapy.

Sessions are also offered via Zoom as an alternative to either face to face or phone counselling.  This also enables clients to access therapy from their own space.

“People are just as wonderful as sunsets if I can let them be … When I
look at a sunset, I don’t find myself saying, ‘Soften the orange a bit on
the right-hand corner’ … I don’t try to control a sunset. I watch with awe
as it unfolds.”
